Hear why Steve found it helpful to bring a caregiver to his doctor appointments,
and to learn everything about colorectal cancer that he could, and to keep a record
of his experiences.
Title: How caregivers can help
“It’s probably good when a person first gets cancer not – and gets that prognosis
which is scary – not to immediately – take a breath. Take a breath. Nothing is going
to happen in the next couple of days that’s going to influence the outcome. Start
learning at that point everything that you can. Have someone come with you, take
notes. I think you need to take – put in a notebook all your questions, all your
– all the answers, all the tests that you’ve had. Your radiologist reports, your
pathologist reports, etc., keep a record of your entire chronology of your disease.”
