Title: Having “angels” look out for you

“It was surprising to me where my support came during cancer. I thought that mainly it would be through family, but I quickly found out that friends and coworkers were so important. I had a group of friends that I called my angels and they took me under their wings and saw me through this whole process.

During December it was absolutely – probably my worst month of treatment and I had surgery in November and chemo started that month. A group of friends came over, and put up my Christmas tree and decorated my home for the holidays so that I could still continue and have this holiday celebration with my family. But they were the ones – and I always wondered how I would pay them back. And none of them expected me to pay back, so now I think the way I need to give back is to give to those that are newly diagnosed.”
